That's me.. ;)

I’m not one of them; I continue thinking about this throughout the entire day. Earlier I used to curse myself, question my existence. Perhaps my existence does not question me anymore; it does not make me feel guilty for the lost job except for the students I left in between.  People say that you dream, they laugh at me saying what you speak of is not the reality. I stay quiet and go back thinking that I’m not one of them. Several questions haunt the one not doing Social Cause. I want to tell them for once to step out to see a huge number doing it all for the people, zillions of volunteers not hoping to reach any big position not making a profile just to sell them off in the market. C’mon you are not a product, you are valuable.  Remember Maslow’s Theory, I think people really working out for a cause are the ones who have reached the top of the pyramid which says ‘self-actualization’.  Going through the journey and going directly at a certain position is not enjoyable for some. They want to get crushed in the process, know what being at the top is. They want to explore, imagine, think, create, travel and what not. You can work for people even if you don’t have money. You just have to figure out ways of doing so. Such kinda people don’t want to literally earn as professionals but just want enough to survive. Philanthropy has been badly crushed by coming in contact with the professional world.  The professional world is a little tough to handle these people. They are people who just look out for opportunities. Once you have a degree you are expected to sell yourself off, make yourself count in the economy of the country. Well, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) matters but above that the Human Development Index (HDI) matters more to such people.
Currently, in Delhi, I’m working as a volunteer with Bhumi who is partnering with Indus Action on Section 12 (1) (c) of RTE which says 25% seats are to be reserved in the private school for the Socially weaker Sections.  I just have to work over a call. Make a call to the parents to confirm if they have filled their application to know their grievances and help them along as a support in the entire process. There are 15 volunteers in total and each has got 50 families. We work on Google sheets; we call them and even comment on the latest whereabouts. I don’t do anything else I just sit down at one place and keep making phone calls and I LOVE it. This is far better than the job I was in. The happiness that you get when a parent says that my child’s name has come in the lottery trust me you literally are happy thinking that YOUR kid got admission in some school you did not even dream of. The scheme is about providing those people with opportunity and being its part makes me feel proud. I’m happy within self I have my own time of making calls, nobody is after me I understand my responsibility. I like the way they monitor. It does not make me think if anyone would be there reading out the comments that I right but that helps me as a follow up for the next day.

That’s just me.
